Ali\u00e1s, dous p\u00f3sters foron presentados por estudantes de mestrado. Este ano o Simposio d\u00e1 un paso m\u00e1is na s\u00faa consolidaci\u00f3n coma foro de referencia para a investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica en Qu\u00edmica Anal\u00edtica, Ciencia e Tecnolox\u00eda dos Alimentos e Nutrici\u00f3n. O catedr\u00e1tico Jes\u00fas Simal G\u00e1ndara salienta que a cita busca ser <em>\u201cun catalizador para o avance cient\u00edfico a trav\u00e9s do debate rigoroso e a cr\u00edtica construtiva\u201d<\/em>. Ao longo da xornada, 24 estudantes de doutoramento do grupo AA1 presentar\u00e1n os seus traballos e, ademais, tam\u00e9n haber\u00e1 unha sesi\u00f3n de p\u00f3ster ao cargo de investigadoras do EURLMB (EU Reference Laboratory for Monitoring of Marine Biotoxins &#8211; Melanogaster<\/em>, <em>C. elegans<\/em>, ou cultivos celulares, para validar efectos antioxidantes, inmunomoduladores ou antiobesidade.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A aplicaci\u00f3n de t\u00e9cnicas anal\u00edticas de vangarda (GC\/LC-MS) e modelado computacional (Machine Learning) para a caracterizaci\u00f3n e cuantificaci\u00f3n de contaminantes e nutrac\u00e9uticos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A exploraci\u00f3n de mecanismos fisiol\u00f3xicos, como a epixen\u00e9tica transxeneracional ou a ferroptose inducida por fitoqu\u00edmicos, para a obtenci\u00f3n dunha visi\u00f3n biomec\u00e1nica do seu impacto na sa\u00fade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Para o director do grupo de investigaci\u00f3n, o catedr\u00e1tico Juan Carlos Mejuto, o Simposio constit\u00fae unha oportunidade insubstitu\u00edble para que as e os investigadores en formaci\u00f3n desenvolvan competencias cient\u00edficas transversais, melloren a comunicaci\u00f3n dos seus resultados e ampl\u00eden horizontes metodol\u00f3xicos. Un contexto que reforza a proxecci\u00f3n dun grupo que conta con case 50 investigadores, est\u00e1 reco\u00f1ecido pola Xunta de Galicia como Grupo de Referencia Competitiva e desenvolve  destacados proxectos de investigaci\u00f3n nacionais e europeos, entre os que destacan os proxectos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sosfood-project.eu\/\">SOSFood<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/promiseang-project.eu\/\">Promiseang<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wheatbiome-project.eu\/\">WHEATBIOME<\/a> ou <a href=\"https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/proyecto-interreg\/agrospace\/\">AgroSpace<\/a>, sendo os tres primeiros financiados polo programa <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/funding-tenders\/find-funding\/eu-funding-programmes\/horizon-europe_en?prefLang=es\">Horizon Europe<\/a> e o \u00faltimo polo programa <a href=\"https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/\">Interreg Sudoe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-9d87331d\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Citexvi will host, on 28 November, the II Agri-environmental and Food Research Symposium<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cidade Tecnol\u00f3xica de Vigo (Citexvi) will host the second edition of the Symposium of the Agro-environmental and Agri-food Research Group AA1 on next Friday, 28 November, thus consolidating an initiative that began last year and which had its first edition held at the Faculty of Sciences of Ourense, aiming to create an annual space for the sharing of the research lines of the group&#8217;s pre- and post-doctoral staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its first edition, celebrated in December 2024, the Symposium brought together the majority of the AA1 group&#8217;s doctoral students, who presented 18 pieces of research with a marked multidisciplinary and international character. Furthermore, two posters were presented by students of Master&#8217;s programmes. This year, the Symposium takes another step in its consolidation as a leading forum for scientific research in Analytical Chemistry, Food Science and Technology, and Nutrition. Professor Jes\u00fas Simal G\u00e1ndara highlights that the event aims to be \u2018a catalyst for scientific advancement through rigorous debate and constructive criticism\u2019. Throughout the day, 24 PhD students from the AA1 group will present their work, and there will also be a poster session hosted by researchers from the EURLMB (EU Reference Laboratory for Monitoring of Marine Biotoxins &#8211; European Union Reference Laboratory for Marine Biotoxins), based in Vigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main thematic areas of the papers presented, notes Simal, are four:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identification and evaluation of bioactive compounds from natural sources, such as algae, medicinal plants or agro-food co-products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use of biological models, such as D. melanogaster, C. elegans, or cell cultures, to validate antioxidant, immunomodulatory or anti-obesity effects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The application of cutting-edge analytical techniques (GC\/LC-MS) and computational modelling (Machine Learning) for the characterisation and quantification of contaminants and nutraceuticals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The exploration of physiological mechanisms, such as transgenerational epigenetics or phytochemical-induced ferroptosis, to obtain a biomechanical insight into their impact on health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Head of the research group, Professor Juan Carlos Mejuto, the Symposium is an irreplaceable opportunity for early-career researchers to develop cross-cutting scientific skills, improve the communication of their results and broaden their methodological horizons.
